In fact, most people are decent and honest and will respect your things. You'll find members want to trade fairly because they want to protect their status. If you're still unsure, use the messaging system to ask specifics about how they intend to use your item. You get direct communication with the person - it's not relayed via an agent, or spun, or doctored in anyway. So ask away! Also, check out if there's a description of the member in the Marketplace; this will give you loads of information on who they are and their history.
